My Idyll

I almost go outside every day now. The weather gets so fine that in the field all the wild flowers and plants grow and prosper wildly in the open sunshine. Earlier on whilst picking up dry sticks for the barbecue party over next weekend, I
enjoyed the spring fragrance in the air and the open view among the hills. Alongthe slopes of the hills, flowers like butter cup and forget-me-not are in full blossom, breezing away with the seedy top of other wild nameless plants. There was such a mixture of colors such as yellow, purple, white, and lovely pink on the
slope surface that you almost couldn’t help saying to yourself “Gosh, how stunning, how marvellous!”

Spring brings vitality to the once drab winter fields, so does it to the people.
I have never felt so active and excited. I want to read, learn, walk and run
far, and do I know not what. It was just yesterday I managed to sew myself a nice piece of clothes. Isn’t that amazing? I always wanted to be self-sufficient at all possible aspects, and now I am getting there. And my friend’s mother was
so encouraging and helpful. Without her I don’t think I would have finished the
clothes so well.

While I was working at the sewing machine, my friend was absorbed in his herbs relocation task in order to build a clay oven. In the meantime, his parents were
finishing off the garage extension project. Everybody was engaged in the spring
afternoon. Even those chickens. One was digging a hole to make herself at home
by the tree, another was pecking the bamboo leaves at the corner of the garden,
and the third and the fourth were standing at the patio vigilantly, expecting to
be fed by the people inside the house.

Come to think of it, the scene almost sounds too idyllic to be true, doesn’t it
? Life is comprised of far more than felicity and simple pleasure and content. So why should I spend so much effort to write and reminisce then? Because I enjoyed it, that’s why. Additionally, in the life I always believe that aspects of life that are merry and fulfilling are more worthy remembering than those that are bitter and heart-racking. Well, surely you can remember the bitterness if you
are not afraid of going stinky.

P.S.: I borrowed, in a way, the style of the famous quote from Mr. Bingley in the mini series of Pride and Prejudice. (All young ladies are accomplished. They
sing, they draw, they dance, speak French and German, cover screens and I knownot what.) I am sure people who have watched the series could identify the
style easily.:-)
