Write to my Nenoh Baby

Dear Nenoh,

In three days you will be 30 months old. I think it’s a short trip in your whole life. But to me it’s like a long march full of excitement, surprise and hardship. Looking back to the growing experience with you, I never feel regretted. And I am still trying to adjust my steps and ways of thinking to yours.

There is a very popular song “ The Greatest Love”. It’s my favorite English song which says “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let
them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them the sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be.” I believe these words show us a good way to bring up the children.

But in China many social facts show that what the young parents do is far from the normal need of their children. First, in order to get better life, many young
people have to leave their family and leave their children at home with their grandparents or the baby-sitters. To these young parents, I suggest that you should slow down your steps for more money, more senses of success to your own career and make yourselves more patient to be real family members in front of your babies. It is better than that when you get to your aim, you still should pay a lot of money and time to treat your children’s mental diseases or other behavior
aberration.

Second, to more ordinary family, parents need to add more communication with their children. It is very hard for some Chinese parents to put down their so-called “ the dignity of the adults”. But it’s very import for the children to be on equalities with the adults. It is better to admit the weakness and mistakes in
front of the children than to conceal them.

Dear Nenoh, I want to tell you that bringing up a baby well is really the most complicated work to do. I hope I can do it well and wish you a happy childhood.

Mum
