National College Extrance Exam See New Racial Discrimination

As is reported by 21st Century, the newspaper:

____________

....

The exam system claims to put all test-takers on a level playing field, but today it favors those in big cities. Most colleges and universities - especially the
best - are located in metropolitan areas, and enrolling a disproportionate number of local students.

With the exception of the hinterland ethnic minorities, someone living in a poorer province has a lesser chance of squeezing into the same school as someone from a richer area, if they score the same. This "regional discrimination" has drawn widespread criticism.

....

____________

As I said in my previous article, I think for those students from poor families,
the decades long school study targeting entry into good colleges is a desperate
large-scale gamble. You spend the best time of your life, which could have been
spent learning some basic skills to survive this murky reality, cramming in all
junk knowledge that is taught, only to put your future at stake. It may worth the stake, though, if the cards were fairly stacked; that it's a fair game where
you have the same chance as anyone else to win if you are intelligent and you study hard. Now you are told, after you wristle with your school study for all these harsh years and shell out your family's hard-earned money for the same length
of time, that you have no more than an outside chance of getting into your dream college only because you are not fucking local, because you are from a poorer
area in this country.

This discrimination is not only regional, but racial as well, if you will. And this is what is occuring in our acamedic circle which is believed to play fair. If we so much as to let it ride this way, we can sure look forward to a new, a furious, desperate, or even sociopathic generation. I wish this were not what our
tertiary schools are trying to contribute to this country.

Certainly a college education is not the only way out; and it's never too late to start over. For all I can say, I say "more power to you".

God - forgive us,

Pan.
