My Whereabouts, etc

There are several things that happened in my life ever since I posted my article
on this forum last time. First I finally made up my mind to quit. The money became not so important as the loss of my general quietude and zeal towards the life itself. The mediocrity of the job and the snobbish people around me upset me and at times made me lose the confidence in myself. I dread their generic feeling
towards me, treating me not as me but someone speaking another language.

Another thing is that my stock (though quite small) this time is finally on the
way to England. For talking to my suppliers I had to wake up early, sat at my laptop, and anxiously waited for the updates. My friend commented that it’s because of the supplier I picked that caused so many problems. But I don’t think so. Instead I believe problems are bound to happen the first time you try something. But as time moves on, the experience will eliminate mistakes and prevent obvious problems from occurring. I actually don’t mind going through the trail and
error stage, since no one is here to teach me.

The third thing is quite exciting. I received an e-mail from BBC learning English website yesterday afternoon. They invited me to write weekly blogs for them for around four or five weeks, or probably longer if my blogs grow very popular.
I was quite excited about the news, though at first I was afraid that I wouldn’
t be able to offer generic opinions and life experience about living abroad as
some other bloggers do.

But their reply this morning was very encouraging: “you are sensible to point out that your ideals and experience may not be the usual ones for a learning English site, however, I think originality would be a breath of fresh air, so we would very much welcome you as a blogger…” So you see, now I just can’t wait to
share my life and thoughts with them. It should be an interesting experience I believe.

What happened last was that I went to the Cornish Maize maze yesterday with my friend. The idea was you went into the maze made up by corn fields, and tried to
get out the maze. It reminded me of the film “Labyrinth” I watched not a long
time ago. The weather was extremely fine, and the wide corn field excited and comforted me at the same time. While exploring in the maze I told my friend my childhood memory about corn fields.

I told him how I adored the sweet corn, the corn cane at this season of the year
, and how I liked to hide in the corn fields from others. Because I was so small
, an acre of corn field appeared a huge playground for me. The long green leaves
, the long hairy corn silks were all possible amusements. But above all it was the young juicy corn that was most enjoyable. I tucked it in my schoolbag and ran home and buried in the fire ashes in the kitchen. The taste of it was just
so delectable. Well, as long as I didn’t burn it.

Seeing a corn field and having the opportunity to explore in it again hence werelike reviewing some experience and feelings carried with it of my long-gone past
. It was very nice. And I should very much like to have more experience of this
kind in future.Here I will share a photo ( a close-up of a young corn) with you.
Hope you like it as much as I do.:-)
