Dear Leslie:

I really enjoy that optimistic and aspiring spirit permeated throughout your article. I concur that passive complaints do nothing to improve anything in a bad
situation, especially when a person has no authority to alter or influence anything in that predicament. It has been proven again and again that the only way
for a person to become indispensable in a company is to learn as much as he can
about the business’ routine operation. Seek every opportunity to learn, be keen
, show strong interest, be diligent and proactive when performing your tasks at
hand, listen carefully to instructions, make good notes and methodically follow
your notes, be willing to explore and probe more efficient ways to do your job, aggressively ask for and courageously take on more responsibility, find new methods to add value to your services without incurring more cost, and show courteous manner when deliver those services, share your boss’ concerns and worries,
make the business your business and always watch the bottom line. If you learn
hard and work hard, and if the boss has invested a lot into you to develop your
skills and knowledge, then he’ll tend to rely on you all the more and will beafraid to lose you as a pillar employee, and that’s when your salary will beginto rise reflecting the importance of your role in the company.

Always remember this formula: Learn more = Earn more. Also keep in mind a famous
saying in business, No margin, no mission. Without a profit margin, there will
be no business mission, so always be vigilant in keeping cost low, cut wastes, improve efficiency and provide value added services. It’s pretty safe that say that the above noted to-do list contains a good number of success ingredients.

What you’ve done with your school was fabulous. Your industry and eagerness from yesteryears sure went a long way in helping you becoming who you are today. In
this modern life, lifelong learning and continuous improvement are becoming a
must for anyone to get ahead, and a good attitude of embracing knowledge and skills is needed for all citizens of the Twenty First century.
