Dear forum friends:
As an English autodidact, in recent years I’m keeping my eyes on one thing: how
to remember a word in mind all life long. Now I think I’ve found out something
interesting in this field. I’ve publish my personal theory on my private net-blog. I hope friends here can share them and give me any of comments. In the next
times, I need many volunteers to test the results of my study methods. If my theories are proved to be workable, I think some day I can pronounce it to the whole world with great pride : One more again, we Chinese people create a new history on English study!

Dear Mary, Pen and David, up till now my theories are only published by Chinese.
My theories concerns many special Chinese culture and may a bit hard to translate them into English. By Ok, for the sake of filling up your curiosity, here I can give some simple explanation.
(Axiom explanation One: ) In our Chinese language culture, one phenomenon is very common, we call it FOUR-LETTER IDIOM. Many Chinese people can easily write down tons of them. Such like ”名落孙山”. This’s a regular team. Wherever any place, published book or newpaper, “名” “落” “孙” “山”, these four word are
showed up at the same time and on the same order. “名” always stands on the head and “山” always stands on the end. We regard it as one habit and all the Chinese people follow this habit, regard these four word as one family, year after year, day after day. Then, the funny thing happen. If some day, you see a deficiency expression of this family, such like “X落孙山” “名X孙山” “名落X山”
“名落孙X”. As a Chinese people, without any delay, we can easily recover this
family and show all the right members out. Now I have to ask you a question: “Why you can? Do you know why you can recover this family that easily? ”
(Axiom explanation Two: ) In our Chinese language culture, the another phenomenon is also very common. Such like these three word: “陶” “淘” “掏” .If you
see it carefully, you will find the right-side of them are same, and only the left-side are different. We Chinese people call it “ PIAN PANG BU SHOU”. Our ancestors once deeply study this language phenomenon and gather all this kind of phenomena, put them on all the beginning of any of our Chinese dictionary.
Now I give a pieces of English words: Table/ sable / cable / fable / stable / enable, of course we can regard it as: t-able, s-able, c-able, f-able, st-able, en
-able. you will find the right-side of them are same, and only the left-side are
different. This phenomenon is as same as our Chinese word. Now here I have to raise up another question: “Why the ancestors of occidentals never deeply study
this phenomenon and gather all of them together with?”
Perhaps some friends will ask me: “Why the ancestors of occidentals have to study this phenomenon and gather all of them together with?” Ok, I will tell you the answer, because this’s the essence of my personal theory: “how to remember
a word in mind all life long.” I can simplly say, now, try to regard this pieces of English words(Table/ sable / cable / fable / stable / enable) as a whole family, as a SIX-LETTER IDIOM. Try to get familiar of all the them. And after some
times, whenever you see anyone of them, whether you can recover this family. Like you always do on Chinese FOUR-LETTER IDIOM.
Well, friends, let me sum up the theory I’m studying now. I’m trying to find a
way of remembering English words, on our Chinese traditional thoughts and methods. I hope you can join in my study and share them. Maybe, the puny thing you always ignored, can bring back you miracle-like feedback.
The undermentioned is 10 families I gather, you can regard it each as a regular
team, get familiar of all the them. And test whether this 10 teams can stay in your mind very long times.

2. Accumulate // cumulate / simulate / stimulate / emulate
3. Apple // ample / sample / dimple / disciple / grapple / nipple / cripple /
4. Baby // hubby / chubby / flabby / hobby / lobby
5. Boat // goat/ coat / bloat / float / gloat6. Fail // tail / hail / pail / bail / mail / nail / sail / wail /
7. Table // sable / cable / fable / enable / stable
8. Attitude // altitude / latitude / platitude / gratitude / fortitude / aptitude / certitude / beatitude // exactitude / multitude9. Claim // exclaim / proclaim / acclaim / declaim
10.project // subject / reject / eject / inject / inject / deject
