After 5,000 Years , A Great Innovation
Dear Forum Friends,
It is not often, that one discovers a breakthrough in technology. An invention has been made and is now available from a store in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
What is this, you ask: It is the :" E-Z Chopsticks". (Easy Chopsticks)
Why this great invention? To enable Westeners visiting in China,(the Olympics are coming) to eat with chopsticks. This new improved version is joined at the end
, that does not go into the mouth, with a small spring, similar to a clothes pin
. This makes two chopsticks a pair joined at the hand end and always in an open
position. Then a slight pressure on the sticks allows you to pick up your food.
The ad that I found this in, in the Inflight Magazin from Air Canada makes this
claim:" The ease of using a fork without the social stigma."
In other words, I take these chopsticks on my journey and can eat like a native.
Now before you laugh, think about how hard it is for a person who never used Chop Sticks, to bend their fingers and be successful. Many give up after the first
try.
For me, this is not needed. At age 21 already in Canada I liked to eat at a Chinese Restaurant in Niagara Falls. Here a very nice and kind Chinese waitress showed me the use of chopsticks. Clumsy as my first attempts were, she was patient and I eventually learned how to eat with these strange sticks. Now I have Chinese
Food at least once a month and keep in practise.
Now it came to me, here might be a business opportunity for a Chinese Entrepreneur. Manufacture such chopsticks and provide them to the better hotels and restaurants to be given surreptiously to foreign guests so they can save face." Facesaver " chopsticks might be the brand.
