Before I went to college, I always wondered what the college life is. With this dream I entered the college for my master degree. After one and half year of college life, I am used to living the pressing school life in this big city. I have learned a lot from the people around.
I learned how to be human, how to do things and how to acquire knowledge from my mentor’s lectures and her behaviors. she once told me that knowledge was not the most important thing in one’s life. As a matter of fact, since the day I decided to go to college, learning has almost become the uppermost thing in my life . Just for a dreaming of being a college student I left my dear beloved daughter and husband, is it worthy?
If I still lived in the remote little town in my hometown, what my life would be ? Maybe I would never have a chance to meet some forum friends such as Tim and Jeannie, Maybe some day David, Mary and Jenny and so on. I shouldn’t regret to giving up something. I have changed my whole family’s life and won’t have chance to retreat.
Yesterday I was fed up with studying all day long, just want to get away from it all. I have already done very well at college in the less than two years. I made an appointment with my schoolmate who graduated last year and works at the college hospital and we met near the Tiananmen Square in the afternoon. She rode on her bike with me sitting on the rear seat of the bike to have her hair cut. I sit on the bike and held my schoolmate’s waist with my arm for the sake of safety and felt the spring here which I never sensed on the bus before. The sky was high and blue with some white clouds here and there; the mild wind blew gently and softly; the weeping willows shoot green burgeon; the yulans were blooming on the Chang an Street… how beautiful the spring is! My heart was flying in this beautiful scenery.
We came across my mentor and her son on the street. They rode on a bike each. What a coincidence! It was the first time I saw my mentor riding a bike, because she usually drives. She was on the way to send her son to extra Chinese class. We companied her to the place where her son studied. My mentor treated us to dinner at a hot pot restaurant in the evening. I spent a wonderful evening with my respectable mentor and lovable schoolmate. What a happy day!
Now I understand the meaning of my mentor’s words. It will be endless treasure for me to have the experience of three years’ study in Beijing. Do you think so , all friends here?
