For Jenny and others, re Canuck's birthday
Hi dear Jenny,
It was very good of you to reply so quickly. Yes it was a good day when Canuck andhis twin brother were born. I was seven years old already, so they were almost like a new family. When I was married they were still two little boys runningaround and playing by the lake and in the orchards. They only came to know me whenthey were grown up, but I knew them from the beginning. It seemed strange to me that they didn't know me!
I think David is very happy with his life in your wonderful country. I'm glad to have a Chinese sister-in-law. I look forward to meeting her one of these fine days.
Yes, the 8th of April was the twins birthday. I wrote to them both and receiveddear brotherly replies from both. They both seem to be happy and in good health , thank God!
You understand well how David founded this Hongen Forum and how long and hard hehas worked with it without any kind of reward except being able to help ChineseEnglish students with their language skills and the pleasure of your company. I only wish he could find the time to write more often. Even I find it a pleasure to read his succinct wisdom when he shares. And I always love to havemy memories of his love of nature refreshed. He has relatives and ancestorswho loved nature and being or living in the wilds. So, as we say, "He comes by it naturally."
Thanks for remembering my dear brother's birthday friend Jenny.
Love, Mary
