On Olympic Games
来源:洪恩论坛 Canuck's Comments  日期:2008-4-17  作者:vvz 阅读:3163
Recently I am very very busy…in doing two things: one, from the working point of view, holding meetings; the other, receiving a lot of emails from my friends calling on me to jointly boycott Carrefour Supermarket in China.

Well, I should say, among all things, I hate two most: one is too “political”,
the second is “extortion”. Let me put it more clearly: just besides my former
office building, there is army guard division. Whenever Army Day (1st, Aug) comes, I can always see a lot of soldiers, each one holding a mini couch under their arm, form a very tidy group, singing and…making blood donation in turn. Rather to say on one of the biggest TV shows, namely, Spring Festival TV Party, you can always find some “over-enthusiasm” tearful hoster talking how sad her life
“used-to-be”. Come on! It is soldiers’ holiday and it is our Chinese biggest
party! Why can’t we let our loyalty guards to have a holiday on their own Day?
Why can’t we, just even for one night, to forget all the trouble and enjoy a carnival on Lunar New Year Eve? If you agree with me, ladies and gentlemen, please
then take just a few seconds to recall this: several thousands years ago, when
people from different tribes or countries on that island in Greek, with rude weapon to kill each other for one reason or another ( I do think that, at that time
, they had their own unmistakable justice reason for this killing) when suddenly
they stopped for several days or even weeks, putting down the weapons in their
hands and shaking hand with each other and beginning to make sport competition on that mountain called Olympic. Maybe after that, they would re-consider whether
they reason for killing was still that justice or not. IT IS JUST GAMES! It is
the party held every four year to persons around world, no matter what is his/her color, languages, nationalities. Then after thinking about that, I think at least most Chinese people will share the same word in their mind like me, Why! Why
Olympic Torch Relaying, as a holy part of carrying out the holy spirit of Olympic, which is organized by China, have faced so many troubles in France, GB, USA?
Why our Chinese people will have to face this unprecedented toughness during the process of carrying on this holy fire? Then if you have these same questions,
you can deeply understand nowadays around world, why Chinese are so united and so angry to Dalai Lama and to some distorted western media. Here I do not know whether to boycott Carrefour located in China is right or wrong, but at least I do
know that, after hearing CNN saying something that I am absolutely sure is lie,
CNN will lose forever my trustfulness and therefore will definitely lose at least one Chinese customer forever ( by the way, I am also absolutely sure that the
amount of Chinese customers CNN lose will be thousands and millions.)

When I think twice about what have happened to Beijing Olympic Games Holy Torch
during the past few weeks, then I have no choice but think that what Dalai Lama
or the other medias did is nothing but extortion. We know that there is something wrong with our policies but which country has none? I love my country not just
because her fasting developing, her promising economy, her long history, I love
this country even also because she is not perfect, and she need our own Chinese
to reform her and optimize her. And we are honored to take this responsibility.
Furthermore, most people know how devotedly Chinese government apply for hosting Olympic Games, and how we cherish this opportunity to show our hospitality and
ability to host this holy event! Then somebody else also realizes it, and then
they also “cherish” this chance to extort Beijing. No matter what will happen
in this Spring and Summer, it is doomed to be a very special Olympic Games. I am
sure that many years later people will recall this summer not just because of Olympic but also because how united and how resolutely our Chinese around world fight to protect the holy spirit and holy honor of ourselves and our country. As
one of them, I feel nothing more proud than that.
