Dear Pan & Forum friends,

This of course is a joke, but if easily schocked, please do not read on.

China is getting ready for the Olympics and a friend sent me some signs, that in
English give way to merryment. It will undoubtedly be a time where some visitors will experience frustration. Like it is reputed to have happened to a businessman from India some year ago in a big city which could have been Shanghai.

This chap was nattely dressed,in a proper suit and a turbane on his head. With his suntan he could not be mistaken for anybody else than an Indian from India. He had come for some business deal and had walked away from his hotel at dusk.

Suddenly he experienced a call of nature of the second kind. He looked around,
but alas it was hopeless. He could not understand any of the signs. He could not
speak Chinese and so ask someone for a washroom. What to do? He ducked into an
alley and found a secluded spot behind some boxes. As he squatted down, allof a sudden, as from nowhere two police officers appeared. They grabbed him by the arms and ushered him into the police car. With sirens going they took him away. He was frightened. Would he be charged with an offense? Maybe stay in jail over night?. Just then the car drove onto some palacial grounds with a green lawn
and some bushes. The car stopped. The officers took him out and then motioned for him to do it behind the bush. Oh how glad was the man, it was high time or he
would have had an accident in his trousers. As he finished one of the officers handed him some Kleenex. He was overjoyed and exhuberantly exclaimed"
" Oh, the Chinese Courtesy!" To which both officers replied: " No , This is the
Indian EMBASSY!"
