My View on Forrest Gump
----A feather implies what people’s destiny is likeIn the blue sky, there is a beautiful feather dancing with the breeze, finally lighting at the foot of Forrest Gump sitting on the bench. Forrest Gump, who is unfortunately born with a rather low IQ and the muscle problem, has already created a miracle, achieving a great deal of incredible success. He is a football star, a war hero, and later a millionaire. Stupid as he is, he gains his brilliant
life indeed.
After seeing the attractive film, virtually, we have learned a lot from Forrest
Gump, especially his merits. Forrest Gump is considered to be a moron, but fortunately, he runs very fast, which makes him enter the university successfully and
become a well-known person in America. In addition, he is perfectly honest and
kind-hearted, so that he makes acquaintance with Jenny, who is one of the most significant women in his life, also a kind and zealous person. However, she is not as lucky as Forrest Gump. She is keen on finishing her America dream--being a
famous singer, but she fails at last, even gets to corruption. Their different experience forms a vivid comparison in the film. What is more, he is a man with a
sense of responsibility. Forrest Gump loves his mother very much. The minute he
is aware that his mother is going to heaven, he goes home in a hurry. He is determined to take good care of his mother at the very urgent time. And he always keeps his mother’s words in mind--Life is like a box of chocolates: You never know what you’re going to get. That is to say, Forrest Gump will try to do everything. If not, he won’t know what happens next. In general, although Forrest Gump is regarded as an idiot, yet he tries his best to perform everything well.
As a coin has two sides, Forrest Gump also has some shortcomings. For one thing,
he is exceedingly impulsive. He is very fond of Jenny. Every time he fights against whomever he is, in order to protect his sweetheart--Jenny. He doesn’t think about what the consequence is. For another, he is somewhat of obstinacy. When
he realizes that Jenny has left him, he begins to run across America and persists in doing it for a few years. I assume that it is a foolish way for him to do so, because he wastes too much time performing such an idle thing. In other words
, he is pursuing the Utopia that is out of reach.
At the end of the film, the beautiful feather is going on floating in the sky. Anyone who has ever seen “Forrest Gump” will learn that life is like the beautiful feather, which can be changeable with the breeze in the sky. As a matter of
fact, Forrest Gump is to a large extent a produce of capitalism. We should take
advantage of his merits and get rid of his shortcomings. Thus, we can lead a splendid life in the foreseeable future. (520 words)
